Cyber Resilience Act

Cyber Resilience Act (CRA): What does the regulation mean for AC/DC and DC/DC converters?
The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) – officially Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 – sets out binding cybersecurity requirements for products containing digital elements. The aim is to strengthen the cybersecurity of hardware and software throughout their entire life cycle. To this end, the regulation obliges manufacturers, importers and distributors to comply with the relevant requirements.

Is the Cyber Resilience Act relevant to AC/DC and DC/DC converters?
Whether a power supply falls within the scope of the CRA depends, amongst other things, on whether it has digital interfaces through which data can be exchanged.

The decisive factor here is whether the power supply has a data interface such as PMBus, I²C, SMBus or CAN bus.

The standard AC/DC and DC/DC converters from intreXis do not have a data interface. They therefore generally do not fall within the scope of the Cyber Resilience Act, provided they do not have any other relevant digital functions.

Consequently, no CRA-specific processes are required for these products, for example with regard to reporting obligations for actively exploited vulnerabilities or the CRA declaration of conformity.
